Add another notch to my stress list...
I have been working on the template and I tried to follow the book's example about file structure. However all of the files on the current website are arranged a bit differently so I would have to change their locations to inforce integrity. Now if I do that, the current website stops functioning. So, after playing for a few hours, and getting every file in its right place, nothing worked. No error. Just a blank page. I'm about to throw a sissy fit. I have to say that whoever worked on the SMIS website prior, did not a good job. And they should be ashamed for themselves. As the week goes by I hope to get my error figured out and move to conversion step. This template design is taking too much.

Progressing on with ugasmis.org redesign....
I read about 70% of the PHP/MySQL book. The MySQL section is getting a little bit confusing, but I am sure that I will be able to figure it out.
Thankfully, I am off the pain killers, my shoulder is feeling a lot better, and I am able to spend more time programming.
Today I started working on the template for SMIS's website. This way, anyone needing to create an additional page will have to do minimal work in order for it to work. This will also allow future work to be easily edited as one change can fix all of the pages that run on the template.
This is what I have so far:

The re-design is rather simplistic visually, but programming wise its rather good. The new site will feature a CSS that has specific properties that are easier to implement. This will keep those who update the site in the future from screwing up. By the end of the night I hope to finish up the template.
As for the future items, here is what I hope to do:

As for the future items, here is what I hope to do:
- import current php and other objects that are currently found on the website through the template
- find the most important areas that need php work
- hightlight those pages with high priority
- fix one by one
- this might involve database editing
- also might involve working with other officers to highlight key areas
- test
- fix
- repeat ;)
- after all that is done, add more PHP objects in order to make the site fully functional and error free
